The Catalog: A Modern Fable
Once upon a time, the wife of a man who secretly disliked the act of recycling sent a humble request to an enchanted place called Land's End.
The wife asked the caretaker of Land's End to send a catalog that provided a visual depiction of its wares thus making it easy to select garments without having to travel to department stores whose workers were feared throughout the Kingdom for their surly attitudes and unnatural ability to vanish into thin air at checkout time.

Mama Evans
Erma Evans, a widow in the Church of God, served as a perfect example of what the Apostle Paul called for from our senior women (Titus 2:3). She touched the lives of many and was affectionally called "Mama Evans" by the young fellows of the Worldwide Church of God in Toledo, Ohio: Church singles whom she graciously would have over for a home-cooked meal every month.
Mrs. Evans knew all about southern hospitality since she was originally from Mud Creek, Kentucky. She would offer the meal, ...

Interesting Old Dog Tricks
The teaching and training of dog tricks while not a necessary
part of a dog's education, is an achievement that offer dog
owners and his friends a great deal of amusement and adds
materially to the value of a dog.
Training your dog tricks can be difficult and frustrating if you
cannot achieve the results you want. However, unlike house and
potty training which are vital education for any dog, I feel
that the end-results is not the most significant element in
trick training, to me the most ...

"Toby" - My Whirling Twirling Sheltie
Five years ago this August a funny little puppy came to live in
our home.
He was tiny, blue-gray and white colored coat, skinny tail that
hurt when it hit you and the biggest bat ears I'd ever seen on a
puppy.
There was one other oddity his eyes were two different colors,
one blue one brown.
This little guy's energy level was amazing; he ran and bounced
like there were springs attached to the pads of his feet. He
made us laugh from the moment he walked through the front door.
However the ...
